Highest observation deck in the EU opens in Warsaw Highest observation deck in the EU opens in Warsaw
The highest observation deck in the EU – Highline Warsaw – has just opened in the Polish capital.
Visitors can enjoy panoramic views over the city from the 53rd floor, or pay a visit to the 49th floor where they will find both the garden terrace and the HighGarden cocktail bar. Sipping cocktails inspired by the city while watching the sunset? Don’t mind if we do…
Before reaching those lofty heights, tourists can explore the different eras of Warsaw through immersive video animations. The videos focus on the city’s medieval origins, its golden age before WWII, and its modern transformation. The latter is symbolised by the transformation of Varso Tower, where Highline Warsaw is located.
The tower is found on Chmielna Street, which was partially burned down during the 1944 Warsaw Uprising and left neglected for decades. In 2009, the eastern end of the street was added to the Polish register of monuments.
Varso Tower’s observation deck is at 230m above the ground, making it the highest in the EU. Saint Petersburg’s Lakhta Center takes the title of the highest observation deck in Europe, at 357m off the ground.
Globally, the world’s tallest building, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, has the highest observation deck on the 152nd to 154th floors, some 585m above the ground.
