No matter how many times it happens, there’s still a thrill that comes from seeing places you’ve been appear in a film or TV show. Particularly if you’re able to point out how implausible the scene would be IRL (See You season 4, or listen to Taylor Swift’s London Boy).

And now national tourism agency VisitBritain is making the most of how often the UK appears in TV and film with a new campaign, ‘Starring GREAT Britain’.

The four-minute video, which you can watch on YouTube here, is a compilation of iconic scenes, from Notting Hill to Bridgerton. Viewers see Zendaya atop an open-top bus on Tower Bridge in Spider-Man: Far From Home before seeing the moment Tom Cruise famously broke his ankle on the set of Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and much more.

While many of the clips are in London, the campaign also features scenes shot in Edinburgh from F9, and at Loch Shiel from Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban. Some of the other locations featured include the Lake District, Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire, and Anglesey in North Wales.

Those looking to follow in the footsteps of their favourite actors and actresses can now head to the VisitBritain website to view a digital map highlighting the different locations that have starred on the silver screen.

For fans of Mission: Impossible, Bridgerton and Outlander, there are dedicated hubs detailing all of the locations, and you can also browse by genre or opt to see the sets of numerous period dramas.

Tourism Minister Sir Chris Bryant said, “Many of the moments that took your breath away in the cinema were filmed in the United Kingdom. Stunning scenery, amazing cityscapes and great cinematic talent have combined over the years in a truly exceptional way. We want visitors from home and abroad to experience them first-hand by immersing themselves in the scenery and locations made famous thanks to film and TV.”

‘Starring GREAT Britain’ will be shown on digital billboards across the world, including Kurfürstendamm in Berlin, Gare du Nord Station in Paris, and the Jeddah Corniche in Saudi Arabia.
