After more than two years, the biggest carnival in the world is back in Rio de Janeiro. Feel part of the party with these spectacular images from this year’s Sambadrome
Floats, feathers and the most fabulous costumes. The world’s biggest party returned to Rio de Janeiro after a two-year break due to coronavirus, and they came back in style – samba style.
The winning samba school at this year’s Sambadrome was Grande Rio – who highlighted the prejudices against Afro-Brazilian religions from Evangelical Churches, by paying tribute to Exú, a god worshiped across many African cultures.
