Davidson’s Arnhemland Safaris, Northern Territory, Australia

Situated on the flood plains of Mount Borradaile in western Arnhemland, Davidson’s is a rustic bush camp dedicated to sharing Australia’s Indigenous history, largely through tours of ancient rock art (dated up to 55,000 years old) and bush-medicine safaris. Look out, too, for freshwater fishing and sunset boat tours.

Tahi, North Island, New Zealand

Tahi was founded in 2004 by conservationist Suzan Craig in the hope of transforming discarded farmland near Whangārei into a nature sanctuary. Suzan and her team have since planted 349,000 indigenous trees and restored 30 hectares of wetland, home to 71 bird species.

Arkaba Homestead, South Australia

An 1851-built farmhouse with just five guest rooms, Arkaba Homestead is at the centre of South Australia’s great rewilding story. Bought by Wild Bush Luxury in 2009, this once-barren sheep-farming land is slowly being revived and turned into a wildlife conservancy.
