Culinary tourism has been on the rise for the past few years, with more and more tourists prioritising getting an authentic taste of a country as part of their travels.

And if you’re looking for inspiration for your next food-focussed travel itinerary, we have good news, as Ainsley Harriott is headed for The Bahamas for his latest TV show.

The new ten-part series, Ainsley’s Taste of The Bahamas, will see the chef embark on a culinary tour of the capital Nassau and neighbouring Paradise Island.

Along the way, Ainsley will explore farm-to-table dishes with Chiccharney Farms, visit the third largest wine cellar in the world at Graycliff, and join a cocktail making class at Jon Baptiste’s Jazz Club.

Viewers will learn about the country’s rich culinary culture and see some of the island’s most popular restaurants along the way.

Ainsley said of the new show, “I can’t wait to share my latest culinary explorations with the ITV viewers. The Bahamas is a nation so rich in culture and warmth it’s infectious, and I know this series will leave tastebuds well and truly tickled!”

In recent years, Ainsley has presented shows including Ainsley’s Taste of Malta, Ainsley’s Caribbean Kitchen and Ainsley Harriott’s Street Food.

Ainsley’s Taste of The Bahamas will debut on ITV1 at 2pm on 3 January.
