The iconic MICHELIN Guide renowned for its discerning accolades for restaurants (in the form of MICHELIN Stars) is now recognising the world’s most outstanding hotels with MICHELIN Keys. The first MICHELIN Keys were revealed in 2024 for properties in France, followed by Spain, Italy, the United States, Canada, Mexico and Thailand.

Awarded by the MICHELIN Guide inspection team after anonymously visiting the hotels, the MICHELIN Keys denote unique character, personality and comfort with an uncompromising level of service, so these are stays with stories and soul. In October 2024, it was revealed that 123 hotels in Great Britain and Ireland have been awarded MICHELIN Keys.

The Connaught in London has been awarded with Three MICHELIN Keys (The Connaught)

14 special stays were recognised with the particularly exceptional Three MICHELIN Keys, including The Newt in Somerset, Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons, A Belmond Hotel in Oxfordshire, Claridge’s, The Connuaght and The Savoy in London, The Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder and Adare Manor in County Limerick.

37 properties were awarded Two MICHELIN Keys, including The Fife Arms in Braemar in the Scottish Highlands, The Balmoral in Edinburgh, Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare and The Merrion in Dublin, The Dorchester in London, Grantley Hall in Yorkshire, The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa in Bath and Lympstone Manor in Exmouth.

72 special stays received One MICHELIN Key, which include beautiful hotels such as Dylan in Dublin, Beaverbrook Town House and L’oscar in London, 100 Princes Street in Edinburgh, Palé Hall in Bala, Wales and Longueville Manor in Jersey.

Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of the MICHELIN Guides, proudly shared that “this selection is an invitation to explore the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, visit their historically rich cities, relax in their charming countryside and scenic landscapes, and enjoy, for a few nights, a timeless lifestyle in century-old castles and manor houses.” To delve into the best of British and Irish hospitality, see the full list of the hotels and the number of MICHELIN Keys they were awarded below.
