Always wanted to visit Belize but the travel time is putting you off? We have good news, as this new flight route will mean UK-based travellers can reach the Central American country in one day for the first time.
From 8 December, Air Canada will launch a flight connecting Montréal-Trudeau International Airport with Philip Goldson International Airport in Belize City. With direct flights from London to Montréal in the morning, visitors will be able to hop on the flight to Belize after a short layover, landing in Belize that evening.
The new route also connects travellers from more than 20 European cities to Belize same-day, including Manchester and Edinburgh in the UK, as well as Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Geneva, Marseille, Madrid, Rome, Lisbon, Athens, Barcelona, Brussels, Copenhagen, Lyon, Milan, Nice, Toulouse and Vienna.
Currently, those who want to visit Belize have to take an overnight connection through a U.S. city or Mexico. The only Central American country with direct flights from the UK is Costa Rica with British Airways.
