The most spectacular new buildings across the globe have just been revealed at the World Architecture Festival.

Held annually since 2008, the annual architectural and design event crowns buildings across a number of categories including exteriors, interiors, hotels, schools and transport.

For 2025, the top gong, aka building of the year, went to The Holy Redeemer Church and Community Centre of Las Chumberas in La Laguna, Tenerife. Designed by Fernando Menis, it was inspired by the island’s volcanic landscape, the building is lit by the unglazed cross on the side through which light pours in.

The interior of the year title went to FRACTAL CHAPEL at State Hospital Graz in Austria, while the landscape of the year award was handed to the Xinjiang River Ecological Corridor in Shangrao City, China.

Other big winners include the Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree in Singapore, which was selected within the hotels interiors category, 1265 Borregas in California, which took home the sustainability prize, and the Alibaba Xixi Tech Campus Landscape, which was highlighted as the best use of colour.

You can see the full results on the World Architecture Festival website.
